While it’s impossible to know exactly how many turtles fall victim to motor vehicles per year, the number stretches into the thousands in New York alone. In the modern world where many species of animal see themselves in decline due to climate change, habitat destruction, and many more reasons, roadkill is one of many stresses on the already declining population across all types of turtle.Aside from the obvious problem of turtles dying on them, roads also serve as a sort of wall for slow animals like turtles, fencing off portions of their habitats that they once used for food or breeding, leading to feedback loops where less habitat means less turtles means less of the next generation. As with everything in ecology, this effect spreads out through the rest of the ecosystem with branching effects.
It is here at Towin’ Turtles that we aim to address the problem that roads and motor vehicles pose to turtles. With the turtle moving technology that we’ve developed, we can save these animals from their ugly fates on an individual scale as well as large scale as the effects of our work compound. For this, however, we need your help. In select areas around the USA, Towin’ Turtle kiosks will be built to allow you to save any turtle in need that you spot. All you need to do is use your membership card, or a gift card with sufficient funds to release the RC Turtle mover which you can pilot to safely move the turtle to where it needs to go across the road. It may be small, but every little bit helps! Next time you see a turtle on the road, go and tow it!

Turtles are in desperate need of a helping hand. Signing up will show you care!

With our Turtle Transport Vehicle (TTV), you can help save some of the many thousands of turtles that perish each year.
